Our legacy began in 1948, when Carl E. Mason established the Carl Mason Agency in Flint, Michigan. Known for his integrity and community leadership, Mr. Mason built the agency into a trusted partner for probate professionals in Genesee County and beyond.
In 2013, Mr. Mason retired and entrusted the business to Flint attorney Richard F. McNally, who renamed it McNally Mason Agency. Richard brought not only his deep legal knowledge—but also a fierce dedication to protecting vulnerable clients and supporting attorneys navigating the probate process. Today, we continue that tradition, serving probate courts and professionals across the state with fast, accurate, and legally sound bonding services.
Due to their special nature, we do not offer jail bonds.

Richard F. McNally (State Bar of Michigan P29713) is the owner and principal bonding agent at McNally Mason Agency. He’s also a practicing trial attorney with over 45 years of legal experience and a lifelong commitment to justice and public service.
A graduate of the University of Michigan and Detroit College of Law (cum laude), Richard has spent his career standing up for everyday people—first as an assistant prosecutor, and later as a litigator and partner in the law firm of Collins, Wascha & McNally in Flint. In his legal practice, he has represented hundreds of clients in civil and probate matters and served as Guardian ad Litem for vulnerable minors and adults in the Genesee County Probate Court.

Richard has been admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
When he's not helping fiduciaries get bonded, Richard is often volunteering in his community, mentoring young attorneys, or presenting at probate law seminars and continuing legal education events.
